Cascade Carriers maintains a Certificate of Recognition (COR) for our audited Health & Safety system and trains workers to the Petroleum Industry IRP 16 Standard.
Compliance to all applicable legal safety codes, rules and regulations is our minimum acceptable standard. We will reduce the risk of injuries and incidents through ongoing job hazard identification, assessment and control. We will observe each other, intervene when required and learn from our mistakes. We will achieve excellence in both safety and productivity because we are committed to the process of continuous improvement as a Company and as individuals.
Environmental performance is becoming more important as a business metric. The SmartWay Transportation Partnership is a voluntary program that encourages best practices in freight supply chains.
The “GPSA” application process provides the opportunity for each business unit to review the effectiveness of their current Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems (“HSEMS”) and overall safety performance. It is also an excellent benchmarking opportunity for the business unit to determine how closely they meet the goals of the Mullen Group and to compare and discuss the results with their peers.
Some of the areas that are evaluated are leadership commitment and accountability, hiring practices, training and development, risk management, regulatory compliance, environmental code of practice, emergency preparedness and incident/accident investigation and reporting, as well as measurement, assessment, assurance and improvement of current practices.
